Naming intelligence, in one search
Onymu checks a name everywhere it has to be free — domains, social handles and trademarks — at once. We built it to name our own projects.
How it started
We have shipped a lot of small projects, and every one of them stalled in the same place:
finding a strong name that was still free everywhere.
Naming took hours, sometimes days. We brainstormed in a document, checked the shortlist one name at a time in a registrar search, then again on every social network, and usually settled for something that did not fit the idea.
Everyone we asked worked the same way. A spreadsheet, a registrar tab, a dozen sign-up forms, and a lot of retyping.
We stopped doing it by hand.
What we built
One platform that answers the whole question at once. Type a name and Onymu tells you, in milliseconds, where it is still free — instead of you finding out one tab at a time.

- bookmarks, favorite extensions and history to keep track of it all,
- and an MCP server, so an AI assistant can do all of this inside a conversation.
The name comes from onym, the Greek root for “name”.
So we launched it.
