History
.co is Colombia's country-code extension, opened to the world in July 2010 and marketed as a global alternative to .com, one letter shorter, and short for company. It took around 600,000 registrations in its first six months, helped by Super Bowl advertising. .CO Internet sold to Neustar for $110 million in 2014, GoDaddy acquired that registry business in 2020, and in June 2025 Colombia awarded the ten-year contract to a new joint venture, ending fifteen years of US operation.
